Welcome to the 2019 edition of Friends Around the World.
The family of Friends is beautifully diverse. It is indeed our strength. We need each other – for sustenance and companionship, to broaden our perspective of what it means to be a Quaker, and to give us hope in a world of great challenge. As we imagine peace and justice in our world, we need to know that each of our actions contributes to a greater whole, a wholeness we share in the abundant God we worship.
Friends Around the World helps us stay in touch with each other, promoting intervisitation and communication. It is a directory of Yearly Meetings and unaffiliated Monthly Meetings. For details of local meetings, visit the relevant Yearly Meeting’s website. This website exists alongside Section websites which also provide contact information. You can find these links on the Section pages of this website.
For this 2019 edition, we are making the content fully available online, and plan to update this site whenever we are informed of changes.
We are very grateful to Nancy Fee for compiling the information, and we thank all of you who have and will continue to provide updates.
With the capacity of the web, we are looking to expand the information contained in the directory. In essence, we want to create a website, accessible anywhere, as up-to-date as possible, containing all the information about Friends that people might need in their travels. A tall order perhaps, but with your help, we can do it.
So what can you do to help? 1. Promptly send us any contact information and updates you know of. 2. Let us know about any corrections needed. 3. Send us your suggestions on how this directory can be improved, especially what added content you would like to see.
Please submit changes and suggestions via this website or post them to: Corrections, FAW c/o FWCC, 173 Euston Road, London NW1 2AX, UK.
We hope this information helps you continue the long tradition among Friends of staying in touch and visiting each other around the world.
In loving Friendship,
Gretchen Castle & Harry Albright
General Secretary / Communications
